-
What does Umbrella IT Services do?
We handle managed IT support and help desk, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365 and cloud, backups and disaster recovery, VoIP phone systems, network infrastructure, IT consulting, compliance and security audits, and AI automation. We do this for small and mid-sized organizations.
-
Where are you located and what areas do you serve?
We are based in Burnaby at 4085 Marine Way, Unit 2, and we serve businesses across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, from Vancouver to Chilliwack. We work both on site and remotely.
-
What size and type of businesses do you work with?
We work with small and mid-sized organizations, from four-person firms on up. Our clients include financial firms, bookkeepers, law firms, film production studios, and many nonprofits.
-
Are we locked into a long-term contract?
No. We work month to month with no long-term contract and no onboarding fee. We would rather you stay because the service works, not because you are tied down.
-
How fast do you respond when something goes wrong?
Our average response time is around 15 minutes, and a real person answers. Support and monitoring run 24/7.
-
How much does managed IT cost?
It depends on the size of your team and what you need. We scope it after a free assessment and tell you the number before you commit. There is no onboarding fee, and it is month to month.
-
We already have an IT provider. How does switching work?
Start with a free assessment. We plan the migration around your business and can move you in segments so nothing breaks. You review the plan before anything changes.
-
How do you keep our data secure and backed up?
We use layered security, including multi-factor authentication, device controls, and monitoring for unusual activity. Our backups are tested by restoring them on a schedule rather than assumed to work, and we follow the 3-2-1 backup approach: three copies, two locations, one off site.
-
Are you a Microsoft Partner?
Yes. We are a Microsoft Partner, and our advice stays vendor-neutral. We recommend what fits your business rather than a single vendor.
-
Do you help train our team on security?
Yes. We run short, regular security awareness training so your staff can spot phishing and social engineering, which is how most breaches start.
-
What is the free IT assessment?
It is a short, no-obligation review. The form takes about 60 seconds, then a real engineer looks at your setup and shows you where the gaps are. There is no contract and nothing to buy.
-
Do you work with nonprofits?
Yes. We work with many BC nonprofits, including help with Google for Nonprofits and Microsoft 365 setup.
